Sourced from smallholder farmers in Idido (Edido), in the heart of Yirgacheffe, this washed coffee comes from a region celebrated for producing some of Ethiopia's most distinctive cups. Grown between 1,900 and 2,450 masl from traditional heirloom varieties, it's carefully washed to preserve the clarity, sweetness, and vibrant character that define a classic Yirgacheffe.
In the cup: strawberry, guava, kiwi, honeydew melon, peach, orange blossom, and yogurt tart, with a creamy body, balanced acidity, and a clean finish. The washed process keeps the cup clear and well-defined, letting the coffee's layered fruit and floral aromatics shine through.

Ethiopia is where coffee was first discovered by a goat herder named Kaldi. Kaldi noticed that his goats were eating the coffee cherries and would get so much energy and would not sleep. At Claw Coffee it's tradition that we pour out our first sip (very small sip) of this roast out of respect for Kaldi and his goats. This one's for Kaldi!Â
About Ken Bon
Ken Bon Trading is a family-run Ethiopian coffee processor and exporter led by Aisha and Danya Bon, a mother-daughter team carrying forward their family's deep connection to Ethiopian coffee. Their roots trace back to Jimma, one of Ethiopia's most storied coffee regions, where their family once ran local processing sites amid the area's lush forests. Coffee has always been part of who they are — something they grew up with, learned, and came to care about deeply.
More than eight years ago, Aisha founded Keko Coffee, exporting coffee and spices to international markets. As the business grew, Danya joined her mother, and together they built Ken Bon Trading — a second-generation company centered on quality, traceability, and community impact. Today, Ken Bon is recognized as one of Ethiopia's leading coffee processors and exporters, working closely with smallholder producers across Guji, Yirgacheffe, Lekempti, and Jimma. Every lot is hand-picked, naturally processed, and sun-dried to preserve the flavors and aromas that make Ethiopian coffee so distinctive.
Their commitment extends well beyond processing and export. Aisha and Danya have helped build local schools and recently funded a clean-water well in Huraga, Guji, expanding access and opportunity for coffee-growing families. For them, coffee is more than a business — it's a way of life rooted in family, tradition, and purpose, one that honors the land and communities behind every exceptional Ethiopian coffee.
