This batch of Peruvian beans comes to us from the Chontali mountain range, which forms a ring around the Chunchucas river valley in Cajamarca. The steep forested slopes level out towards the peaks, creating an ideal climate for coffee farming with fertile, loamy soil. Coffee cultivation in this region began flourishing in the 1950s and now spans 2,700 hectares, with most farms ranging from 2–4 hectares.
